Questions parents ask
How will I know my child got to school safely?
You get a notification at four moments: when they are picked up, when they arrive at school, when they leave school and when they are home.
Can I see where the vehicle is right now?
Yes. While a trip is active you can follow it live on a map in the app.
Is my child tracked when they are not on a trip?
No. Location is shared only while a trip is active.
Who else can follow the trip?
You can invite family members, such as a partner or grandparent, so they can follow it too.
My child is off sick today, or I need a different pickup. What do I do?
Update it yourself from your account. The driver and school see the change straight away.
How do I know the driver is safe?
We check their operating licence, driver's licence, PrDP, roadworthy certificate and insurance before they can carry a child, and flag documents before they lapse.
Who can see my child's details?
Only you, the family members you invite and the operator who drives your child.
What if I am worried about a driver or vehicle?
Report it from the app. The association's admin team reviews it, and the driver is told a report was filed, not what it said.
Is this like Uber, with a different driver every day?
No. Your child keeps their existing transporter. They just need to register on ScholarANGEL.
What if my child's transporter is not on ScholarANGEL yet?
Ask them to sign up. Once they are registered, you can follow your child's trips.
What does it cost?
Nothing. ScholarANGEL is free for parents. We make our money by partnering with associations.
Do I need to download an app?
No. It works in your phone's browser. Native apps are in development.
